La bataille de la Plaine (The Battle of La Plaine)

From 2016 to 2019 Place Jean Jaurès, known as La Plaine, became a battlefield. The city wanted to redevelop it; many locals saw gentrification and demanded a say. The fight ended with a 2.5 metre concrete wall thrown around the square. Made collectively by dozens of camera operators, the film refuses to stop at defeat and shows a neighbourhood inventing another way to shape its city.
