Karinding

The karinding is a traditional Sundanese mouth instrument cut from bamboo or palm. In this three-minute portrait, Ilham Nurwansah plays it and explains its place in Sundanese culture. Made by Subhashish Panigrahi and the O Foundation as part of their work recording endangered sounds and languages.
